
International break: Everything you should know Chelsea edition

The first international break of the season is upon us with the 2026 world cup fast approaching. For players, international duty is the highest honour especially in a world up year. Players will be looking to impress at club level to earn their respective call ups.
Chelsea in particular have a large number of squad members who are either already apart of their respective international squads or are fighting for there place in the team. This will cover the Chelsea players that received call ups for the upcoming international break this weekend.
England
Reece James is the only Chelsea player called up to the England squad for this upcoming international break. The right back seems to have cemented his place back in the squad after returning to full fitness following a series of injuries. Cole Palmer was left out as a precaution due to the minor injury he sustained in the warm ups before the West Ham game.

Brazil
Chelsea is home to a number of Brazilian players whereby 3 of them have all been called up to the squad for the upcoming international break. Joao Pedro deservingly earns himself a call up after hitting the ground running in a Chelsea shirt. Pedro is loving life at Chelsea and for good reason too because the striker cant stop scoring. He has carried his red hot form through to the premier league from the club world cup scoring 2 goals in the opening 3 games of the season. The exciting youngster Estevao earns himself a call up alongside young midfielder Andrey Santos.

Portugal
Chelsea winger Pedro Neto retains his place in the Portugal squad for their upcoming fixtures against Armenia and Hungry. He will be looking to impress to cement his place for the World cup that is fast approaching.

Ecuador
Moises Caicedo will lineup for the South American side against Argentina this weekend. The midfielder has had an impressive start the the season with many cementing him as the best midfielder in the premier league. The youngster currently on loan for the blues Kendry Paez also earns himself a call up.

Honourable mentions
Malo Gusto was included in the French squad and goalkeeper Fillip Jorgensen was also included in the Danish side for their respective games coming up this weekend. Marc Cucurella will link up with his Spanish teammates after getting the call and loanee Mike Penders was included in the Belgium squad. Enzo Fernandez misses out of the Argentinian squad due to suspension however will most likely be re called to the team for the next international break in October.
